一、 教材分析

本模块的主要内容是介绍学习方法,讨论在英语学习中过程中所遇到的困难,并通过问答等方式交流英语学习的方法和建议。作为初中二年级第一学期第一节课,这样的内容设计对学生是很有必要的, 可以帮助学生在学年之初重新认识英语学习的重要性,并制定新的英语学习计划。

承接一单元詹姆斯老师大明和玲玲等同学讨论英语学习的方法问题,第二单元的主要内容是语言医生在线答疑,她主要针对三个方面的学习问题提出了建议。这三条建议是按照理解、表达、知识学习的结构排列的,为培养学生的逻辑分析能力提供了一个很好的样本,按照二单元课文建议的顺序排列(一单元的对话对学习方法并没有进行内在的逻辑顺序进行排列,因为这是书面材料,是经过逻辑思考之后的表达。)对学习方法的分类建议按照理解,表达,知识的顺序来进行。

通过本模块的学习,学生不仅可以学会如何表达自己学习中遇到的困难,掌握如何提出建议还能充实并掌握更多的英语学习方法,如何处理阅读理解中的生词,如何提高英语听力能力,如何记忆单词等等,从而提高自己的英语学习能力。

二、学习目标

1.掌握下列单词、短语、句型:ask for, improve, basic,advise, suggest, I also advise you to talk about the films.... 等.

2.能够读懂表达提出英语学习中问题和给出建议的短文,掌握文章主旨内容和框架结构,恰当运用阅读技巧,正确获取和处理信息。

能够灵活运用一般现在时、一般过去时、一般将来时和现在进行时四种时态进行英语学习方法开展讨论并给出建议。

3.通过学习理解西方人如何提出建议;,学会恰当地征求和提出建议。

四、学习重难点:

学习重点:能够读懂表达提出英语学习中问题和给出建议的短文,掌握文章主旨内容和框架结构,恰当运用阅读技巧,正确获取和处理信息。

学习难点:对照自己生活中的相关经历,学会恰当地征求和提出建议。

II. Warming-up

Read a letter from my friend-Tina about asking for good ways to learn English, and talk about more ways to learn English well.

设计意图:通过创设与学生现实生活紧密相关的情景,引出本课的话题,并在阅读前对U1提建议的关键句型进行复习和练习,为后边的阅读理解做准备。

III. Pre-reading

Ask some questions to encourage students to talk about their own problems with brainstorm. Like, do you have any problems in learning English?What problems do you usually have? Meanwhile, consolidate the new vocabulary.

设计意图:教师通过问题引领激发学生的兴趣,运用头脑风暴的方式,引入新单词的学习,形成词汇风暴,深度感知词汇,解决读前词汇障碍,为下一环节做好准备。

IV.While-reading:

1. Fast reading:

Read the passage quickly and quietly to find out:

(1) What’s the main idea of the passage?

Give students some tips about how to find the top sentence.

(2) . Divide the passage into two parts and summarize the main idea of each part.

And then, show the main structure of the passage to help students have a better understanding of the whole passage.

设计意图:通过快速默读课文获取文章主要信息,掌握通过寻找主题句来概括文章主要内容,同时掌握文章的主体框架,节约阅读时间。

2. Careful reading:

Read each part carefully and answer questions.

1. Read part 1 and think about “Is it usual or unusual for us to have problems in learning English? ”, encourage students to talk about their own problems bravely, realize to ask for help/advice when meeting problems.

2. Read part 2------problems and advice and answer questions:

What are students’ problems?

What’s Diana’s advice?

And read the three problems carefully and summarize how the students talk about their problems(what aspect + examples)

Then, read the advice to each problem carefully and summarize how Diana gives advice to us. (good ways + how to do it)

设计意图:通过细读的方式,再一次对文章进行理解,完成文章结构图中问题和建议部分,进一步理解文章脉络,并提醒学生用寻找含有关键词的短语代替句子,为复述短文做好准备。

3. Retell the problems and advice, practise in groups and show in groups.

4. Deep thinking:

1) How do the students feel when they meet problems in learning English? Can you guess how they would feel when the problems are solved? So what can you learn from the passage?

2) Can we change the order of the three questions? Why ?

V. Post reading

Choose either of them to talk about and write.

A. Write a letter to Diana asking for advice.

B. If you were Diana, your friend Helen has some problems in leaning English, please give her some advice.

设计意图:由学习别人的问题,了解适合别人问题的建议,设置真实情景,引出谈论自己学习的问题和给出别人好的学习建议,可以让学生对本课所学的知识进行迁移,进一步巩固本课重点语言知识。

设计意图:第一项作业是课文内容的一个简单迁移,适合B层学生,第二项作业需要课堂中的全面参与,更多的创造性,而且所需词汇较多及谋篇布局的能力,适合A层学生。两项作业都是课堂学习的延伸和巩固,是所学知识的反馈。学生不仅能在这项作业中再次巩固词汇和句子,而且能带有自主性去思考问题,这会更有利于激发学生英语兴趣,拓展学生的思维。
